Scaling and Animation

Image
Introduction       This blog post is about the scaling and animation of our still image. Maggie and I decided to do our story on a fake Lego land. We based the story around a Lego character, falcon, trying to save his best friend from the evil frog. We thought this story was extremely funny and reminded us of when we played with Legos when we were younger.      The readings were very helpful with learning how to utilize position, scale, and rotation on images and text for animations. For example, Jordy, from the youtube video, went over how to animate the text using positions and keyframes. I utilized this a lot throughout our still image. It was very easy to learn and I will continue to use it on future projects.  My experience      I have used Primere Pro before in another class so editing was very familiar to me. I did however not know how to edit text and animations. I found it very exciting learning all of these new ...

Audio Story

Introduction  My audio story is situated around the question, "Does music affect personality?" I was able to go out and get three people on the street interviews and an expert interview. Throughout my podcast you can hear how I follow the Radio Lac Arc, by somewhat knowing something, knowing a little more, and then questioning what I know. I hope you enjoy listening and learn more about music pertaining to personalities.  This podcast was extremely fun to edit and put together. I learned how to adjust audio levels, erase sound, razor clip audio, and even add SFX and background music. Adding the voiceover was another part I enjoyed because it creates depth to the podcast. I feel very happy with what I have produced and can't wait to make more podcasts.  Audio Story  Mikayla Jackson · AudioStory Mixdown

Second Rough Draft: Interview

Image
Introduction  The scope of this blog post is going to cover the rough draft interview clips. I inserted a voiceover with a strong reflection on something my expert talked about. Then, I proceeded to add background music and fine-tune my audio. Although I am only submitting 20-30 seconds that I edited I took the time to go ahead and edit more. This is all leading me to have a finalized podcast.  Theme     The theme of my person on the street interview is the effect certain genres of music have on personality. This question is extremely broad and can be interpreted differently for each individual person based on their own musical preference, that is what I find so interesting. I have learned that the majority of people associate the same musical genres to aspects of personalities. For example, many students said that happiness can be associated with pop music because of the upbeat tune. I am still at a question mark kind of stage though because this association can bec...

Expert Interview

Image
My Expert The "expert" I decided to interview is my suitemate, Emma Longboat. Emma is a music major at HighPoint University and is deeply involved in the musical world. She is a part of the coed singing group, Offbeats. She is also involved in chapel singing. Music is something she lives, eats, and breathes. She continues to study the effects of music and is asked to create her own arrangements. Considering everything I do believe that Emma has a full understanding of the effect music can have in someone's life.  Editing Experience I found it easier to edit this audio because we had previously been working on getting small clips and merging them together. I have used Adobe Premiere in a previous class and working with Audition is not much different. The razor tool was extremely helpful in cutting out exactly what I needed too. I was able to learn how to utilize all of these tools from the video in our weekly readings (Mike Russell). Full Interview  https://soundcloud.com/...

Person on the street

Image
Introduction/Theme  Do you think a person's musical preference reflects their personality? A potential expert that I could ask would be a musical director or someone who heavily studies music in relation to life. I was able to interview 6 different people and kept only three of them. The three interviews I kept were very insightful because each person had some kind of musical background. I think that is important because they truly understand music and the depth it holds.  Background music  I added instrumental music into the back of my voiceover to fill empty space. I could potentially add clips of other genres of music when someone mentions a specific genre. Because my theme is music it was very easy to add background music.  Editing Experience   Personally, the editing experience for me was very easy because I have used Adobe Premiere in another class. I decided to insert every audio clip and started editing and cutting black spaces and spots in the interview...
